How to Get Through The Tough Times in Affiliate Marketing

By Corey Jemal Henry

When you're new to affiliate marketing and therefor unaware how to properly get your business up and off the ground, it can be extremely stressful and frustrating. All the advice from so-called experts are coming at you from all directions and flying right over your head. You've been struggling along and nothing seems to go your way, but a few tweaks will set you on a straight path (assuming you haven't given up already).
For those times when you're affiliate marketing business is down in the dumps, you need to look over your business model/plan and make sure things are going along properly.
Here are some things you can do when you find yourself frustrated beyond your boiling point and on the brink of quitting.
1. Revisit your game plan
You first have to have a game plan in order to revisit it fyi. Do you have a goal and a course of action to accomplish that goal? If you don't, I highly recommend taking ten minutes of your time to map this out. Without clear cut goals, you won't get anything done, and unfortunately, this is a newbie's first and maybe most detrimental mistake.
Nothing worse than an aimless marketer who can't stick with a plan.
Now assuming you have a plan, you should take 10-15 minutes to revisit your plan and make some changes. Circumstances change quickly in affiliate marketing, therefor your plans have to keep up with the fast paced environment. Go through your goals and make changes as needed. At the very least, looking over your goals will remind you of what is important and needs to be done.
2. Traffic recon
A lot of times when someone isn't seeing results in affiliate marketing, their problem tends to be bad traffic, or dried up sources of it. What are the top three places that your traffic is flowing from and is that traffic flowing to a capture page that converts. Once you figure out where your traffic is coming from and how much you're getting from each source, you'll reveal what sources you should spend time and energy on in order to optimize that traffic.
I recommend signing up for a free Google analytics account and letting them find out where your traffic is coming from and how much of it you're getting. This way you can focus on promoting your affiliate links/capture pages.
3. Keep it moving
The following sentence is muy importante!
NEVER GIVE UP!!!
When you're new to affiliate marketing, it can get tough especially if you're a slow learner like me. But just stick with it. If you find that a traffic source isn't working out for you, or you're having trouble converting traffic, figure out where you're going wrong and fix it.
Affiliate marketing is more of a do it yourself brand of business, and all the resource you'll ever need can be found right on the internet. There are several communities you can visit for expert advice (such as warriorforum.c o m ) on affiliate marketing and get all of your inquiries answered in no time.
This is simple stuff if you allow it to be. Just stick with your plan and make changes overtime as needed and you'll be profiting like a boss
